5 Minutes Jewelry

Hi! How was your weekend?

Hmm, I enjoyed sourcing materials for future works 🙂

Hey, thanks a lot for liking Tantu!

Let’s take a new topic today. How about accessory making? Exciting right? Then why to wait, let us start!

Costume Jewellery

Costume Jewelry means jewellery made to match a costume. Today’s trend is costume jewellery. I often feel the costume jewellery available in the market is not that interesting. So, I started experimenting 🙂

Today I will introduce one of my experiments,

A Simple Funky Costume Jewellery of Safety Pins in Just 5 Minutes!

Materials I Used:

  • Small safety pins dozen set 11
  • Loose safety pins                  13
  • Jump rings                             8 for earrings, 8 for neck piece
  • Ear wires                                2
  • Adjustable tying cord           1

Colour: either golden or silver. Golden gives a rich traditional look.  Silver gives a modern touch.

Tools Required:

Nose pliers for opening and fixing jump rings and ear wires

1 T3 Requirements

I started with neck piece.

I placed 5 safety-pin sets side by side. I Kept 1 safety-pin each at 2 ends. I placed the ends of tying cord at each end.  Later, I placed jump rings, wherever I needed them as connectors (picture).

2 T3 Neck piece 2

I connected them together with jump rings. Nose pliers can be used to fix jump rings into place.  That’s all! Neck piece is ready!

3 T3 neck piece 3a

Earring Making:

I took 3 safety-pin sets. I arranged them in triangle form. I placed 1 safety-pin and 1 jump ring alternatively, between each set.

4 T3 Ear ring 1

I connected them (2 pin sets + 1 single pin at 3 corners) with jump rings as shown (pic 2). Then I took a jump ring, added an ear wire (pic 2). I lifted those 3 single pins at their free ends. And I connected  them together with the jump ring (that is connected to ear wire) (pic 3). One earring is ready! Similarly, I made the second earring.

4 T3 Earring simplified

Final look is as you can see 🙂

5 T3 Funky Safetypin Jewelry

Now, check the time, we have done it within 5 minutes 🙂

How do you feel about this 5 minutes jewelry? I am waiting for your replies!

Well, we can develop a number of designs from the same base idea. I have tried out a few more designs… I will upload the snaps tomorrow.

Take Care!

Bye until the next post!

    • Thank you so much dear 🙂 Ha haa, I was the only (I guess so) student in our class to take drawing class very seriously, more than any other subjects 🙂 I used to have lots of doubts to clarify only in drawing subject 😀 How good those days were, Shwetha! I am grateful to Shrimathi Kalavathi, our drawing teacher, who guided me to hold pencil to sketch 🙂
