This designing post is to showcase how to beautify a plain sari using techniques of thread painting, wet paint drops and spray painting.
Hello Friend!
Designing saris is very exciting. So, I love to buy plain saris. Today, I wish to share one of my saris bought plain and designed by me. I had designed this sari using Thread Painting Technique, wet paint drops & Spray painting Technique.
Now, let me elaborate the techniques.
Thread painting:
This is an abstract painting technique. Thread painting requires thick cotton cord and fabric paint. The thread is dipped in the thick fabric paint. It is then placed randomly on the fabric. A waste paper is covered on the paint filled thread, pressed over it and the thread is pulled. While the thread is being pulled, it creates abstract patterns on the fabric. Entire work is done when the paint is still fresh on the thread. Every new design is created with fresh load of paint on the thread.
Pallu of my sari is done with this thread painting technique. Pallu is also filled with spray painting and wet paint drops.
Wet Paint Drops At Sari Border:
Paint drops spread on a wet surface creating graduated circle pattern. I designed my sari border using this technique of spreading the paint drops. This sari border ends where the pallu starts. While draping, the border ends near the front pleats. This gives an abstract effect.
How’s it? Do you agree that plain saris are amazing and designing them ourselves is an awesome task? Please let me know your opinion and feedback for this sari.
Take care!
Bye until the next post!
